This event was attended by 58 members including some new names, who were very welcome.
The Chairman, Frank Hart, opened the meeting by welcoming those present and reporting that a few had had to cancel because of the rail strike that day. Since the last lunch, we had lost Joan Williams, Stan Ponting and Mick Gregory. He welcomed Pen Horsfall, widow of Tim Horsfall, and her daughter to the event.
Frank announced that the Officers were all willing to continue in office, and all were elected by acclamation.
Nick Pickett gave his Treasurer's report, copies of the accounts having been distributed with the invitation and would be published on the web site. They can be seen by clicking here. The Club continues to have a healthy balance in the bank.
Geoff Thompson reminded the Chairman of his earlier career by producing a copy of the magazine issued for Graduates and apprentices of Babcock, in which he had featured.
Frank then presented our hard-working secretary, Lin Cooper, with a token of our appreciation in recognition of her continued good work and of her efforts in the administration of the event.
The AGM concluded by Frank Hart thanking the Officers for their good work in the past. The Buffet was then opened.
As usual, the food was excellent, and we were unable to do full justice to the spread prepared for us by the new caterers.
