This event was attended by 60 members and we were very pleased to see them all. Unfortunately there were some late cancellations and late applications.
The Chairman, Derek Gosden opened the AGM by welcoming all those who came, and read out apologies from members unable to attend and those who no longer wished to attend. He also reported the recent deaths of Doug Richards, Derek Orchard and also of Gordon Head, whose Funeral and cremation would take place that day at Horsham Parish Church at 2pm. Anyone wishing to attend was welcome to have a quick meal in order to get there on time.
He announced that there had been no further nominations for office, but fortunately all those serving had agreed to continue. He therefore declared that there would be no elections and that they would be appointed en bloc to serve another term.
He then presented our hard-working secretary, Lin Cooper, with a token of our appreciation in recognition of her continued good work and of her efforts in the administration of the event.
The Treasurer, David Powdrill, gave his report and gave a copy of the accounts to be published on the web site. They can be seen by clicking here. The Club continues to have a healthy balance in the bank. However because the Club has to pay for all the meals ordered, the custom of paying on the day would have to be discontinued.
The AGM concluded with thanks to the Officers, a reminder of the regular monthly meetings at Warninglid and at the Tavern on the Green, and the Buffet was opened.
As usual, the food was excellent, and we were unable to do full justice to the spread prepared for us.
