This event was attended by 72 people and we were very pleased to see them all, including some new attenders, together with the partners who attended.
The Chairman, Derek Gosden welcomed all those who came, read out some messages from members unable to attend and mentioned the names of members who had passed away during the year, including David Ogilvie, Sylvia Deverill, Joyce Fortens, John Deadman and Dennis Saunders. He also mentioned Mike LaF Ford, whose obituary had been boticed in the Daily Telegraph. We had also heard from the son of Leonard Simmonds, Transport Manager at Brompton Road and at Crawley, and Duncan Wills, formerly of Metsep, had been in touch and was present at the meeting. He then presented our hard-working secretary, Lin Cooper, with a large box of chocolates in recognition of her efforts in the administration of the event.
As usual, the food was excellent, and we were unable to do full justice to the spread prepared for us, despite many making at least two visits to the buffet.
