Report on the Third Reunion Dinner of the WD Club held on Saturday, 17th April, 2004 at Goff's Park Hotel, Crawley.

The Dinner was less well attended than last year, but a good time was had by all. Chairman David Elvin gave a brief address. He welcomed Mrs Topley and Mrs Mercer, accompanied by her son, to the dinner. Lin Cooper was presented with a bouquet for all her good work as Secretary, including persuading Mitsui Babcock to pay for the postage!. David said that reducing numbers may mean that a new venue will have to be sought. He also reminded members of the Buffet Lunch at Southwater Sports Club, on the fourth Wednesday in September, 22nd September 2003.

Roger Morris had brought Alan Brennan and his wife with them. David questioned the wisdom of this, with Alan's connections with the Fertiliser Industry, but welcomed them nevertheless.

A number of trophies have been recovered from the Bar or the Dining Room at WD House, which members are asked to try to identify. If they are not identified, then they will be auctioned at the lunch in SEptember, except for the Arthur Duckham Challenge Cup, the WD Swimming Cup dating from 1929, which will passed to Dennis Teesdale for him to pass on to the Duckham family.

The raffle had raised just over £300. The winner of the first prize drawn was the Chairman himself, who is donating the proceeds to a lady, who is planning to walk the Andes in support of Cancer Research UK.

Other prize winners are pictured drawing the succeeding tickets under David Powdrill's supervision:

Nick Baker managed to intrude on several of the pictures.
